James Spurr was educated at Wayne State University Law School and the University of Michigan. He works as an attorney in Kalamazoo, Michigan Area.
He also currently (2012) serves as Board President of the Great Lakes Shipwreck Historical Society, a Board Member of the American Sail Training Associationand Board Secretary of the Michigan Maritime Museum.
