Alfred Picardi has been a lifelong student of nautical history and a professional musician, sailor and boat builder. Sailing with his family under the grain elevators and railway trestles of Ohio's Maumee River at the age of four, he embarked on a lifelong enchantment with the mystical world of windborne vessels. At age eleven he was entranced by his first experience with the sea creatures visible in clean, clear water while on a trip to the coast of Florida.
He has been designing and building vessels both large and small since the age of eighteen. He is an MIT graduate and is employed as an environmental engineer.
