Hunter Goforth

Hunter 'Brad' Goforth is a North Carolina native, born in Sylva, NC, and raised in Shelby, NC. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Television Production at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and later earned two Master’s degrees, one in Human Resources Development and the second Management. He was also in the NROTC. After graduation from Chapel Hill, he was commissioned an Ensign, USN and during his naval career was stationed aboard several ships including USS Cochrane (DDG-21) and USS Iowa (BB-61). His final duty station was at Naval Station, Mayport, Florida and he retired in 1994. After entering the nonprofit arena, first, as PAO and later Director of the Angel Hospital Foundation he went on to be a fundraiser for Pfeiffer University, the Chemical Dependency Center, Care Ring, and Hope Haven. He became the Executive Director of Samaritan House in 2007 and has been on the board of several organizations, from the Beaches Chamber of Commerce in Atlantic Beach, FL, to the Establishing Board of the Matthews Presbyterian Preschool.
