Robert A. Geake has been writing on Rhode Island history and lore for over thirty years. He is an associate of the John Carter Brown Library at Brown University and a member of the Rhode Island Historical Society as well as the Warwick Historical Society. An avid kayaker, he paddles the Seekonk and Providence Rivers and routinely cleans the bank of the Seekonk on the trail that was once the carriage road below Swan Point Cemetery.
