Tom Cunliffe is the author of several books on yachting. He has sailed since the age of 14 on everything from Firefly dinghies to big gaff schooners.
He has been Mate on a coasting merchant ship, run yachts for gentlemen, operated charter boats, delivered all sorts of vessels, raced at quite high levels and has taught sailing intermittently for thirty-five years. He has been a Yachtmaster Examiner since 1978.
