Ron Thompson was born and raised on Canada’s prairies. After serving as a naval officer, he spent two years working on the margins of the Kalahari Desert. He subsequently pursued a career in Canada and internationally as an economist, investment banker, and consultant. He is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan, the University of Toronto, the London School of Economics, and the Humber School for Writers, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He lives in Toronto.
