Each month I provide a short bio of one of the authors on the site. This month we will look at Julian Stafford Corbett. Sir Julian Stafford Corbett (1854-1922) wrote four novels, two of which may be considered Historic Naval Fiction, before going on to become what some have described as Britain's greatest maritime strategist. He was a prominent British naval historian whose works helped shape the Royal Navy's reforms of that era. One of his most famous works is 'Some Principles of Maritime Strategy', which remains a classic among students of naval warfare. Corbett, who was also a close friend of First Sea Lord Admiral John "Jackie" Fisher, was knighted in 1917. |
