1860’s: Hard hit by the sudden tragic death of his wife, James Onedin has abandoned himself to his work preferring to think no farther than the present. then, on sealing a deal in Bilbao, coutesy impels him to welcome on board the Anne Onedin colliery owner Mr Biddulph and his pretty, spirited young daughter Leonora.
