Adam MacAdam is sent on another mission by the United Nations, this time to Jebelsamra, a small Arab kingdom which has just lost its king to a rebel army. They are controlled by a fanatical leader called "the Lord Hammerer". Disguised as a hill shepherd Adam is soon in the capital trying desperately to find news of the Europeans who have been trapped in the country when the rebellion broke out.
