Adam MacAdam is placed in charge of a large new oiltanker which only has a skeleton crew on board. This is because it is scheduled to be entirely operated by remote control as it circles the world at a tremendous speed. The authorities in Yraguay, however, have not made allowances for the power of a storm and the interference of the agents of envious nations. The guiding fleet is dispersed and Adam and his comrades are trapped in what looks like being a metal tomb sharing their fate with certain malignant stowaways.
