Edward Buell Hungerford (1900-1988) wrote two historic naval fiction books for young adults. Named after his grandparents, he was born in New Britain, Connecticut where he grew up and studied at Trinity College. He was tall and slender, with brown eyes and light hair. He worked as a professor at Northwestern University and was still living in New Britain at the time of his death
