Farnham Bishop (1886-1930) was born in New York, N. Y., a descendant of ten generations of New England farmers. As his father was Secretary of the Isthmian - Canal Commission, he spent many of his vacations in the Canal Zone. He was an educator and writer, mainly of adventure stories for magazines, but wrote some novels, one of which is regarded as HNF.
