Adrian Tinniswood (1954- ) is a native of Derby in the UK. He followed a degree in English and Philosophy at the University of Southampton with a Masters in Philosophy on 'Minor Poets of the 1890s' at Leicester.
Since then he has combined work with heritage institutions such as the National Trust and the Heritage Lottery Fund with lecturing for English and American universities, including Bristol, Oxford, Nebraska-Lincoln and UC Berkeley. He is the author of more than twelve books on architectural and social history and is well-known as an author, lecturer and broadcaster with a respected academic reputation in Britain and America.
He now lives in a quiet village outside Bath.
