The Good Ship Venus

A rollicking Navy yarn packed full of humour!

Wrens on board Her Majesty’s ships! Whatever next…!

Royal Naval Dockyard, Southern England, 1984

The Ministry of Defence for the Navy has decreed that in a modern experiment in man- — or women-power, HMS Venus will have Wrens amongst her ship’s officers and company.

There is horror and outrage from the Naval Officers when they are met with the news that women will be going to sea.

Very ably led by Second Officer Susie Remington W.R.N.S, the Wrens are determined to prove themselves as good as the next man.

And the Captain, Lt. Cdr Toby Harington, R.N., and the rest of the men come to realise there is much to be said for the women’s touch on board, in more ways than one…

How will the plucky ladies perform when faced with the realities of life at sea? What will be the verdict of the chauvinist ranks?

Can man and women serve in harmony, and without romance getting in the way?
